The historical Haydarpaşa train station is one of the monuıments in Istanbul. It is located at the Asian minor in Kadıköy county. It was built by Germans as a train station. It was put into service in 1908. It was the beginning of line to Ankara and eastern region. After the republic was established, Railway Management of Turkish Republic took over the management. Still it is one of the regional head offices of Railway Management. Top of the building was damaged due to a fire in recent years.

According to the project of it was decided to decorate it as a hotel but it coulnd’t be done. It is the archeaological site today. The ruins of ancient Chalcedon site were unearthed. Still many new hints on Istanbul history are being unearthed.

Troy and Trojan war became famous thanks to Homer’s Iliada and Greeks’ historical records. It was thought that Trojan war and Troy were fantasy. Although the records describe us a great wealthy site and a legendary war, we couldn’t have concrete proves on them for centuries.

A treasure hunter who grew up with the story of them came to Ottoman Empire. He excavated all ancient site (with damages). At least finally he discovered that this site could be Troy. He found some traces from the ancient site and the legendary war of Troy. The appearence is that Troy and Trojan war are true. This point makes this site special because a historical story became true. Troy was the place where the history became a real body.
