South Eastern Turkey is full of historical events’ witnesses. As it has been the gate to the Asia and eastern world, many civilizations visited here. They left some great heritages such as historical Urfa fortress.

Actually its history isn’t clear, it is thought that it was built in 81 4 AD by Sassanians. Additiion to this theory, we can come across different traces. Also the fortress was built on a settlement area that was from pre-historic age (10.000 BC). The archeaological excavation is going on. After the archeaological excavation, the fortress will be restored.
