Historical Haydarpaşa Train Station

The historical Haydarpaşa train station is one of the monuıments in Istanbul. It is located at the Asian minor in Kadıköy county. It was built by Germans as a train station. It was put into service in 1908. It was the beginning of line to Ankara and eastern region. After the republic was established, Railway Management of Turkish Republic took over the management. Still it is one of the regional head offices of Railway Management. Top of the building was damaged due to a fire in recent years.

According to the project of it was decided to decorate it as a hotel but it coulnd’t be done. It is the archeaological site today. The ruins of ancient Chalcedon site were unearthed. Still many new hints on Istanbul history are being unearthed.
