Crusaders have a long history in Anatolia which had a strategical importance on the route of Jerusalem. Even Crusaders founded small states as ducedom and shire. Southern Turkey (at present) was the homeland of those states.
We also know that Crusaders ruined Constantinople and founded a Latin Kingdom. This kingdom had lasted for 60 years. East Roman Empire allieds recaptured Constantinople but East Roman Empire never got its bright era back. It has been collapsed by Ottoman Empire in 1453.
Crusaders left some castles in southern Anatolia. Although they aren’t very well at present, we can see the glory of those castles. Crusaders are known as looters because of their history here. A Crusader commander was buried in St.Sophia. The monuments of Constantinople were looted and melted in order to make coins.

Ottoman Beylic was one of the border beylics. It was on the border of East Roman Empire. Thus Osman bey who was the founder of Ottoman Beylic had attacks on East Roman Empire territory. According to the general records, Ottoman beylic was established in 1299. Ottomans captured other beylics by marriages and wars. In following centuries, it became an empire.
