We have an interesting epic that first beauty contest that has ever been known was organised on Mt.Ida ( It is in Çanakkale province of Turkey). Aphrodite, Hera and Athena were the goddess’ and shepherd Paris was the jury.

According to the myth, goddess of chaos Eris left an apple to be given to the most beautiful goddess in the wedding ceremony of Peleus and Thetis. All of the gods and goddess’ were invited except goddess of chaos Eris. So she got furious. So she did it.

Zeus decided to arrange a beauty contest. Aphrodite, Hera and Athena attended the contest. Shepherd Paris chose Aphrodite as the most beautiful goddess.

Aphrodite can be seen on Mt.Ida ( Mt.Kaz today).

Ephesus is one of the most important ancient sites of Turkey because it is one of the a few cities that symbolizes the bright days of Western Anatolia. We all know that Troy was the destination where one of the most legendary wars was existed. It was so big that the biggest navy was gathered and they attacked Troy even Aschilles. Princess Paris kidnapped Helen to Troy and the war was declared. It had lasted for 10 years. It finished with the war trick. Greeks built a wooden horse and they left it on the sand. Indeed some Greek soldiers were hidden inside to attack Troy in the good time. Greeks hoped Troians to take it to the city and they did it.
