When was Ottoman state established?
Ottoman State was one of the border emirates in Anatolia after The Seljuk period. It is thought that it was established in 1299 officially but some sources provide us some extra information. It is known that Kayı tribe was in Söğüt before 1290. Some attacks were made to East Roman castles in the border.
The founder Osman Bey gave his name to this new state. His dynasty has lasted for 600 years except a period for 10 years around. It is certain that Kayı tribe had a great domination in the region. After Seljuk period, Ottoman state was one of the powerful states in early times. Thanks to their location, they had a better background than other states.
