This is the period that had lasted in 2nd century BC in Small Asia. Assyrian traders established sites that were based on trade of local underground wealthies and economical activities. We can list the valuable metals such as copper for this trade chain.
Generally the trade sites were built in Southeastern region (nearby Mesopotamia) and Central region. The (central) region is known as Cappadocia at present. The local underground metarials were gathered in those sites and they were sold. By the guidance of official records (Cappadocian tablets) we find out valuable hints on the trade and life. Also economical activites had an important part in those sites.
Because of its location, Small Asia has always great importance for trade in history. Thus many civilizations struggled to dominate here. Assyrians were one of the states that dominated those routes and regions.
