Cereal products have been the major agricultural production of Central Anatolia for thousands of years. They have been main element of nutrition for the local people. Also Central Anatolia has been one of the main production fields to grow up cereal products. It means that also exporting and storing have been important titles for the redion. Still the region has the same importance at present.
The local people tried to find solution by carving the soft limestone rocks for storing 800 years ago. Limestone rocks have big advantage for storing. It can keep the cereal products unspoiled around 30 years (it is still valid for present). They are located in Taşkale district of Karaman province in Turkey at present. Those storerooms are attracting visitors They became a touristic site. It is a great experince to feel the different emotions.
