Habib-i Neccar Mosque was destructed

Habib-i Neccar Mosque that is located in Antakya is known as one the oldest mosques of Anatolia. But this building was built as a Christian temple firstly. It was built in 7th century AD. It was named of an apostle in Antakya. This apostle was a carpenter.

The apostles came to Antakya to promulgate Christianity. But the local residents rejected their belief. Finally they were beheaded. The head of the carpenter was behaded on the peak of the hill and his head rolled through the place of the mosque at present. Also the tombs of St.John and St. Paul are here.

After the eartquake on 6th of February, it is one of the buildings that damaged in earthquake.
