When Mustafa Kemal started to make his plans for recovery, he discovered that industry wasn’t sufficient for the welfare of a state. Industry was almost required for every branch in the country as today.
After the republic was declared, Mustafa Kemal had the national industry built. In 1930’s, Turkish industry was one of the top economies of the world. He had organized the industrial fairs. Turkish economy became the best economy before the WW2. Turkish Lira was equal to 1 US Dollar. Turkish Lira was one of the respected currencies at that period.
Mustafa Kemal Atatürk realized that economy is everything. It is the key to freedom. When a country isn’t dependent on the world for the manufacturing, that country can’t be free. To be independent is required to manufacture every sort of good.
