Constantinapole was the city that had been capital of East Roman Empire for more than 1000 years. The secret key to defend this city was the city walls. They were so tough that the city couldn’t be conquered till 1453 by Sultan Mehmed II.
The city walls of Istanbul had served to protect the city for centuries. They witnessed many sieges in the history. Many soldiers and religious officers martyred for this holy goal. The walls are still standing today but they need a wide restoration.
