This is a bridge that is one of the best preserved ones in Turkey. A long time had passed till it was constructed. Also it was called five bridges. This is the story;
Emperor Justinianus had a project to tie up two banks of creek Melas. So the route would be shortened. He had a new bridge designed on creek Melas. On the other hand Emperor desired to show his glory and strength with this masterpiece. It was the tradition to have masterpieces built in order to be immortal forever. So Emperor Justinianus wanted to have some imperial buildings and etc constructed. It was one of them. The bridge had been finished in 560 AD after two years. It was an important route from Constantinople to Small Asia.
It is one of the significant masterpieces that connect the old capital to important East Roman cities.
