Anatolia has some interesting stories. The story of a lonely minaret is a great story. This mosque was built in Central Anatolia (today’s region is Çorum province at present) 147 years ago. The mosque served the local people as a religious facility more than 100 years. A flood collapsed all mosque expect the minaret in 1981. All territory was evacuated because of flood so the minaret got lonely. That’s why it is called as lonely minaret.
It was registered as historical site so the local people never forgot it even the village was evacuated. They desire this minaret to be restored.
