According to the last discoveries, Göbeklitepe isn’t alone and it might not be the oldest in the region. By the recent researches, many temples or settlement areas were discovered under the ground. It is the sign of the deep historical background of Southern Eastern Anatolia. As we have stated for several times, it was a very famous region due to its location.

Another excavation site , Karahan tepe, gave us promosing hints to achieve the goal. Although we don’t have significant proofs, it is stated that important discoveries were unearthed in this excavation site. They may be dated back to the period that can be older than Göbeklitepe. Such as the statues, the findings have important hints on the history of the region.
