One of the forgotten characters in Constantinople is St.Sergius and Bacchus church. It was used for throne ceremonies. It was built in AD 536. It was built by Justinianus I. According to the records, Justinianus I was accused of betraying the East Roman Empire by joining the rebellion. So Justinos (uncle) decided to execute his nephew. That night two saints St.Sergius and St.Bacchus got into the dream of Justinos. They told him that Justinianus I was innocent. So he forgave his nephew. After Justinianus I got the throne, he had this church built in order to thank for two saints.
Today we know this church as Little Hagia Sophia Mosque. It was converted into mosque in 15th century. After the conquest of Constantinople, some churches were converted into mosques. It is located in the historical peninsula of Istanbul. It is nearby to St.Sophia Museum.

Human life has many stages and they are being stated in various ways. Death is one of the most important stage of the human life (even for a living organism). Turkish Ottoman culture was also pointed death with the Turkish -Islam perspective. The graveyards of Ottomans were like historical records. It is easy to understand the graves’ owners by the head of the tombstones. They used some symbols for the statues or the gender of the people. For example if a stateman passed away, a quilted turban (kavuk) was the head of the tombstone. If a woman passed away, you could see a turban on a tombstone. We can give you more samples for this title. Also we can see the writings in Ottoman language on the tombstones. Otttoman language was the mixture of Turkish-Arabic- Persian language. Actually this language belonged to high level Ottoman public, the society was speaking Turkic language.
The graveyards of Ottoman culture are like a gallery of tombstones. We can get many details on the lives of those people.
It is a kind touch to the past. Thanks to the level of art handycraft, there are many beautiful pieces. Unfortunately due to the lack of respect to culture, most of them were vanished.

The obelisk which is located in the historical square of the city was actually in Karnak Temple of Egypt. It was brought to Constantinople by the order of Roman Empire. The obelisks were the arches of triumph in ancient Egypt. They can be considered as pharaohs’ boards. It is the sign of multi-cultural structure of Roman Empire.

Constantinople was one of the biggest capital of ancient times, it was so impressive that many civilzations came to this capital city to witness this glory such as Vikings and others. It can be compared with today’s New York. It seems that its glory hasn’t finished yet in spite of latin invasion.
In recent years, the treasures of ancient Constantinople are shining again. One of them was a hippodrome of the capital. It was the symbol of empire like other hippodromes in the Roman Empire. It was collapsed and changed in the history but its glory has never gone. It is still living with us. It is old and retired but a great treasure. Unfortunately we can see a few parts of the hippodrome at present. Even tough it is very small, its heritage is very deep. We are waiting for the restoration of the ancient Constantinople’s treasures. So they are going to shine again and the legacy is going to regain value.
Istanbul has many archeaological treasures like Hippodrome. They need to be fixed or cared. If we can achieve this goal, Istanbul and Turkish tourism will rise again. Also we are going to see the glory of the city.

A few archeaologists or people witnessed them in thousands of years as the tombs of Pharoahs were robbed. Till the tomb of Tutankhamun, nobody saw a real pharoah tomb. The royal items, the god statues and personal items became true although there were some discussions on them.
The dagger of Tutankhamun was one of the impressive items in the tomb. According to the works on this dagger, it is found out that it isn’t from earth. Its material is a meteor.
