We always state that castles are important military buildings in ancient era and middle age. So they were multi functional buildings. They were built for defense, attack and in order to be an important military base.

Hurman Castle is one of the greatest castles of Southern region. It is thought that it was built in Roman period around 4th century. Then Abbasid State came here. Turks had dominated the region Seljuks used this castle.

It was built by Conquerer Mehmed II on the European side of the city. It was the one of the important tactics to conquer Constantinople.
